2 for 1

it was mike's birthday (a very good and close friend) on the 9th, so we went out and celebrated. i showed up to take him out with balloons, flowers and birthday muffins (yes the candles were trick candles to my surprise). we then went tp dinner which was delicious japanese food, mike's fav since he served his mission in japan. then we headed over to the zoo to see all the zoo lights. most of the animals were not out, it was way too cold for most of them. mike went out without a coat and people kept tellin him that was crazy so finally he gave in and started to tell people that he was from canada, yeah he is from arizona. we had such a good time. i do admire the kid. and i want to wish him a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY one more time. oh and i made a new friend her name is sue, she is a very good friend, always polite and such a good listener.

brandon lee, katie and i went out four wheeling yesterday. oh my fun times. we had such a blast. brandon drove for a while and katie and i just giggled like little school girls. there was so much mud, which eminent on brandon's shirt, and katie's and my face. it definitely started off our day right. besides the fact that it was the cold the whole time we cuddked enough to make it warm and totally worth it all. thank you brandon and katie for the wonderful day.

'tis the season

my dad and i put up christmas lights this past weekend. oh my it was cold, as long as i was in the sun i was fine but as soon as the sun went away it was fridged. however, it was a good time for sure. now the house is beautiful and now people can find it a lot eaiser. yeah for christmas time. i am excited for the season.

vacation time

so i went to cedar city and vegas this last weekend. it was ilse's, markus's and johnny's birthday that weekend in cedar. i was not very far from vegas so i thought why not go down and visit kerri and tj and chloe (the girl in the picture). oh it was a fantastic relaxing weekend. a fast weekend but worth the trip.
it was a bit weird for me benig in cedar city though. everyone was busy with school and life, and i was down there to play and to be rid of work for a bit. it is definietly a different scene down there when you are not going to school, and just there for a visit. however, it was great seeing friends, and i even went to visit my professors. oh i do miss the school scene but not enough to go back.
vegas was about a 10 hour trip, there and back all in a hurry. it was awesome though. so kerri had a scensy party while i was there. let me tell you about these things.... they are basically a candle but not a candle. it is more like an oil burner but with wax and light bulb. there is no candle involved which is better for the enviornment and safer for the little ones. they really are neat. i am excited to get mine for sure. if you want to know more check out here blog, there is a link to it under my friends tj and kerri.the trip was good though, we had fun and it was good to them. i do miss them a ton and wish i could be around more, but me and vegas do not really go well together.
all in all i had a great vacation. the funny thing is that i was going down that way to escape the cold and it was snowing there more that it did here in midway. oh utah weather you gotta love it.

the wedding

well it is official! Bennett and kelly are married and starting their new lives together. the wedding was beautiful and full of life. as Rick (the best man) said, this felt real. it is the real thing. we all had a great time. it was small and quaint exactly what was needed for such a special occassion. i am happy that i was a part of it. it is noticable in the pictures how happy everyone is. my mom and dad could not be more extactic about the union, so hapy in fact that my mom cut her hair off, it was down to her bum and now up to her shoulders different but good. it was great to see some of bennett's old friends too. jed tippetts and his wife chrissy came up, jed actually married bennett and kelly. also bennett's old roomie rick came. i love these guys they are my big brothers and i am so glad that they were here for bennett and kelly.
congrats bennett and kelly, oh and jezzie too, she was adorable in her little dress.

the zoo

a couple of weeks ago i took my niece (Jezzie), soon to be in three days, to the zoo with some of my cousins. we had so much fun.we went to the hoogle zoo in salt lake.i have never been there before but Jezzie and Kelly (sister in-law) go all the time. jezzie knew her way around for sure. the zoo had some way cool animals. i felt bad though becasue the peguins had no water, it is blasphmous (sp). however we still had a great time. we even rode the marry-go-round. it definetly brought me back to my childhood days. oh and kerri you should be proud there are people i these pictures not just animals, i have learned.

i know

it has been a long time. well i am officially done with school now, have been for a month. i am living in midway, utah with the parents for the summer. i am so happy to be here, getting restless but happy. midway is an awesome place. the newest adventure for me is being somewhere and not having any friends. i am in the singles ward here, which by the way is totally different than a university ward. the ward is awesome but i really only talk to the people in my ward on sundays. i guess it is safe to say that they have jobs and i do not so it is fair. yes it is rtue i am jobless, not a fun life at all. hence i am getting restless and going crazy. i really cannot keep myself busy enough at home.
well i thought i would update on some pictures. these are my last adverntures at SUU with my friends.

my dear friends, my life savers

les jones, my favorite professor and greatest friend

st. george temple with the best of friends

graduation day

although i have been jobless for a month i have had some great adventures along the way. i have had two weddings and well needed sunburn to start it all off. my dear friend Erika got married on may 17th which was a beautiful wedding. then a couple of weeks later my best friend Rachel, her little sister Natalie got married in Monticello. on my way to Monticello i decided, with Ilse, to stop off in Moab for a day or so and visit Scott. we palyed and went hiking anfd fishing, this is when the sunburn came about. it was an amazing trip, that is until the boys were taking me to Monticello and decided to hold me captive. they took me out rabbit hunting and on a joy ride. it was fun i must admit but i was eager to get to Monticello and see Rach. the rest of that weekend, the end of may, i was with rach and her family do wedding stuff. i love the randall family and i was excited to help out and be there. i miss them all so terribly much already. it is crazy to know that little Natalie Randall is a Jones. i am stoked for her and Devin, Congrats you two. however, on of the bes parts about having nothing to do is that i finally had the time to find my dress for Bennett's wedding, no more worries on that end.
this is me updating you!

IT IS ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have done it, well actually in 2 weeks i will have done it. I AM DONE!!!!! college is going to be a thing of the past. a lot of memories have been made in these past six years and a there have been some heartbreaks along with good times that have blessed my life. i have had the great opportunity of attending three fine schools and each of them have given me something to look forward to in life.
the big day is May 3rd at 11:30 in the morning. i will be walking away from Southern Utah University and towards Salt Lake City. what am i to do, well that is to be told at a later date.
i am excited and nervous all at the same time. it is going to be sad and a wee bit hard to leave southern utah, but i feel it is time to move on and experience new things. i am excited to be closer to family and old friends again, well my utah ones anyways. a major sad thing is that i will be farther from vegas and i am leaving my most amazing bishop. however, the good part is my family!
I am finally graduating, it has taken a while to get here, but i had fun along the way.

my mom

this is my mom. she is the most amazing, string, faithful, positive, loving person i know. she is my rock and inspiration. i love her with my whole heart. as most of you know my mom has not always had the best health. well about a month ago we found out that she has mulitiple scelrios ( ihave no idea how to spell it). the deisease is treatable but will never go away. the doctors are not sure how seriuos it is yet, but they are in the process of figuring it all out. she is in high spirits and does the best that she can everyday. she has her good days and bad days.
dad is doing well too. he just got a new job with an engeneering company as an inspector. now with mom being down he is learning how to laundry, and in the process of leraning how to cook other things than hot dogs and soup. he is a wonderful husband and father. he is being so strong, he worries about mom but he has such faith and love for her.
my parents are great and the lord has blessed them as well as our family so much. i am so grateful to have the gospel in my life, and i am so grateful that my dad has the preisthood to bless my mom.
i thought that i would update everyone on my family. a lot has happened in these past few months. we truly are blessed, but i do ask you to please keep my parents in your prayers.

RMPA

alright so this past weekend was an annual research conference for undergraduate students, it is called the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association conference. this is year it was in Boise, Idaho. this was the first time that i have ever been there. the weekend was full of research, learning and great fun, also a ton of food. this was also my last year of attending the conference. for the past three years i have looked forward to the conference, now i will need to find something else to look forward each april.
i want to share on thing that i did learn. my friend elizabeth did a research proect on shame guilt. she found that by just saying sorry to someone was not enough. you need to show the shame and guilt together. also you can show you are sorry without even saying you are sorry by the shame that is expressed. so remember just saying soryy is not enough.

las vegas

yeah so i went to Las Vegas on tuesday night and stayed until thursday morning. it was a blast. i got there tuesday evening had dinner with Kerri and TJ, then without even planning it kerri and i stayed up until 4:30 in the mornig definitely to old to do those kind of things. i slept for 4 hours then woke and went and played with my friend Tana. we went to the body exhibit, oh my interesting. the body exhibit was way cool, it can be a bit much at times, but all the same it was cool. i love to learn about the body, and this was one way to do it. after the body exhibit we went to M&M worl then down to Lied discovery children's museum. it was a funfilled day. i really have not had that much fun in vegas for a while. before the day was over i hung out with Kerri and TJ, we tried to go to dinner with Becky and Justin, but me being me i call an hour before we go and they already had plans, something i need to work on is calling and arranging ahead of time like three days before or even a week; oh and yes i did get in and out, so yummy. so this was and basically is my spring break a day in vegas with good friend and lots of laughter.

the best

alright so this week has been the best. my birthday was on friday, but yet my whole birthday seemed to spread out through the week. to start it off on monday i got a way cool beanie and some hand warmers from my friend elizabeth. then on tuesday i had an amazing day snowboarding, a funding bill got passed for the honor society that i am in and now we can go to our research conference, my friend markus took me to see the harlem globetrotters, and the boy of my dreams made me a birthday cake with his brother and roommate (however it did not turn out so they went and bought a cake) and we had a little party. wednesday was a day to study and i got watch one tree hill and it snowed about 8 inches. thursday ( i did not have a valentine) but i got taken out to dinner by my makeshift grandparents and the people i live with. then came the big day friday my two best buds in cedar (ilse and scott) took me to breakfast, then i went to institute to learn by the spirit, then a friend at work bought me a birthday cake (snikers yumm), and i drove home to be with the fam, we went out to dinner and it was actually a disater but it did not matter i was with my family whom i love. now it is saturday and the fun continues. this morning was probably one of the happiest days of my life. this boy who i mentioned earlier, the one of my dreams, well his name jesse and he is the best. he started this basketball camp for underprivelged kids six years ago for his eagle scott project and it has continued to be a success every year since. well it was this morning and jes invited me to come and watch, so i did i fiqured i should support him. well it was a blessing in my life to see these kids so excited and motivated. they brought such joy and peace to my life, they gave me motivation to be kinder and more uplifting. oh my it was a wonderful expereince. to top it all off i got to see a part of jesse that i have not seen and it was amazing, he truly just impress me all the time. he really is the best.
this has been my most fun filled week. what a great time it has been. i am so grateful to all of those who have made this week what it was. i am grateful for the guidance and the inspiration. i am grateful for such loving friends. i truly have been blessed in my life with the best of friends and family. thank you all!!!!!!!

i love snow

the snow is not stopping. here in cedar it is not to bad but up north it is getting bad, actually it is bad. where my parents live, near heber city, mom said that the snow is about 4 ft high or higher. it just keeps falling down. my parents church was even cancelled today and i would not be surprised if they called a snow day tomorrow. now do not get me wrong i love the snow, because all this snow will fill up the lakes for the summer, but i do miss hiking and being up in the mountains on a hot day. however, winter is not over yet. i am still looking forward to more snow.

great weekend

well this weekend was exciting. i got to go home and play with my future sister-in-law. we went and tried on pretty dresses and went to a pretty lame bridal show. oh my just talking to kelly about planning the wedding makes me definitely not want to plan a wedding. basically a wedding is not in my near future. i miss my family already and wish i could i always be there, another couple of months and my wish will come true. i am excited.

the new addition to the family

this is the new addition to the bartley family. actually it is not yet official, but on July 10th it will be. oh thier names, Kelly and Jezzie. Bennett started dating Kelly sometime this summer. he actually did not let anyone really know for the first little while. kelly has a little girl, Jezzie, that is 3 3/4, her birthday is march 10th. Jezzie is the cutest thing, we love her dearly and would not trade her for anything. mom and dad love being grandparents, and they already spoil her to death. Kelly and jezzie have not only been a great blessing in bennett's life but to our family as well. we all love and appericiate them so much and we are so grateful for the blessings that they bring to us. Bennett is doing amazing and has changed in a dramatic way. he has a family to take care of now and he does not want to lose them, oh my goodness i love having my brother back.
these three are great together. they truly do compelete each other. as you can tell they match and get along so well. i want them to know that i love them so much and miss them every day.

it has begun

well i am in my last semester of school, hopefully. i am excited to get it all done, school that is. i have a lot on plate these next couple of months, soi apologize now if i do not keep in touch like i should. already life has been hectic. i have homework, which is basically a ton of reading. i have research to compelete and make better. i am the president of te Psi Chi honor society, and that is what keeps me stressed out, although i do love it. oh and yes i am the activity chair in my ward, love that too. however, i am glad that i am doing all this because it keeps me out trouble and on my toes. truthfully it is a blessing.
