BIG NEWS...........

i nicole evelyn bartley, soon to be sister bartley, have been called to serve in the Lansing Michigan Mission. that is right i am going on a mission. oh and i leave on the May 13th, so soon. i am so excited to get out there and serve the great people of michigan. my dad actually grew up in michigan in bangor, which i believe is part of my mission. this is a great adventure for me and look forward to every trial and blessing that is coming my way. i know that most of you do not know anything about this, and it is a shocker, but this is what i am to do at this time in my life. i am truly blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and i have been blessed emensely because of the gospel, and i want to spread that wealth and love of christ to everyone. i hope that you all will keep in touch and write. i hope i will be able to keep my blog updated either by me or my sister in-law, so check back often. i love you all and want you to know how much i apperciate your friendship and support.
here is my address:

now remember i report to the mtc on may 13th, i should be there for about 3 weeks, which would put me in michigan in june, the hottest and humidest time of the year there. as far as a farewell goes i will have to let you all know about that later. if any of you have any advice or wishes, please let me know. as the time gets closer the more nervous i get.
you all are in my heart and prayers.

a sweet get away

my friend elizabeth and i went down to san diego for her spring break, since i do not have one anymore. it was a good time for sure, very relaxing and laid back. it was a bit weird not having amy there to be a tour guide, but i have to say that we did great on our own. it was an adventure getting everywhere off of map wuest, but we did it and i am quite proud of us. we ventured to the zoo, downtown (walking around for 30min trying to decide where to eat, working up an appetite), to the beach (on a very windy and cold day), to a movie, and best of all we went to a little fish market and got ourselves fresh fish to cook for dinner (amazzing i must say, thanks elizabeth); even our drive was an adveture, short like too. i know i had a good time. it is good to be back home with all the snow and no green. when elizabeth and i left we had to drive through a snow strom and when we came back well there was another snow storm, we timed it all perfectly. however, i am missing the fresh air and the green. it was nice to get away and chill with an old freind.

a day in the life of a nicole

so last saturday my friend nicole and i went snowboarding up at the sundance resort. oh my it was fun. this was my first time this season, and i am still feeling it. yeah i had a few, well alot of crashes and two quite major ones, i am ok though just some bumbs and bruises. nicole was great the whole time she looked after me and i am grateful for her. it was a beautiful sunny day up there. the cooles part was at the top of the mountain they had a lodge with the best view, so nicole and i got out the lawn chairs and chilled. for real it was amazing and i could have stayed all day if they would have let me. the day was the best day ever, the after thought of it hurt but the pain and suffering was oh so worth every moment. i am glad that i was able to go and play with nicole, she is so great! thanks for the fun and the best memories!
